It’s that time of year again: Marmite Day. You either love it or hate it. Many people would happily throw everything related to Valentine’s Day onto a massive Return of the Jedi-style pyre and watch it burn as a wry smile played across their lips, whereas others love any old excuse to go out for a meal and buy expensive gifts for their loved one.
But what if you haven’t got a special someone to snuggle up to on this most commercial of special days? Well fear not dear reader, for this year’s special is going out to all the singletons: yes, we’ve picked our ten favourite break-up movies.
Join us as we tuck into a massive tub of ice cream, make inappropriate drunken lunges at co-workers and howl down the phone at our best friend about the terrible injustice of it all… Although having said that, it was surprising just how positive most films about break-ups are. Turns out that, in Hollywood at least, there really are plenty more fish in the sea…
